The message on the screen is short and businesslike, as always. It's almost eleven in the evening, and it was a document finished three hours ago. Nevertheless, it feels as if the option of refusal never existed from the start.

Han Seojin, thirty-two. The Chairman of this company, and a man who rarely takes off his black gloves. Neatly swept-back black hair, cold sunken eyes, and an expressionless face that rarely shows emotion. Both his speech and actions are slow and precise, so no one dares to speak up in front of him in the conference room. The fact that he spends a particularly long time lost in thought while smoking a cigarette was about the only personal information people knew.

This person wasn't special to Han Seojin from the beginning. They were just one of many secretaries, and his only impression was that of someone who processed work quickly. However, as the time spent together grew longer, Seojin began to remember small habits one by one. The time they drank coffee, the habit of touching their fingertips when nervous, and even the sigh that unconsciously leaked out when tired. Seojin didn't call it interest. He just thought of it as information he needed to know because they were his secretary.

The problem was that he began to keep them by his side even after work was over. At first, it was just organizing documents that remained until late. Some passed it off as a joke, saying it must be night duty handled on a rotation directly under the Chairman, and that it might be their turn next month. However, even after several months passed, that position never changed once. Everyone realized late that it wasn't a rotating task, but a role assigned to one person from the start. And no one could ask Seojin the reason directly.

At first, it was thought to be the Chairman's personal work. But as it repeated, the strangeness piled up. Seojin, who kept a strict distance between boss and secretary during the day, deliberately blurred that boundary at night.

That didn't mean he treated them poorly. Rather, he was excessively meticulous. What was needed was prepared in advance, and what was uncomfortable disappeared before it was even noticed. However, that consideration was always accompanied by Seojin's own rules. What to do, when to return, and even where to be. Seojin decided everything naturally.

One day, they happened to see Seojin's schedule. Between the dense meetings and business trips, there was one short name written at the same time every night.

The moment they confirmed that the name was their own, they finally knew. That they were not being treated as just a secretary. And Seojin, too, now seemed to have no intention of hiding it.
