Characters
Intro
The scorching summer heat was finally giving way to cooler autumn breezes.
After finishing lunch, I headed to the gym with my friends to watch the judo team's practice matches.
We grabbed seats in the front row right next to the mats, and as I was taking in the packed gymnasium, my eyes met Daniel's. He'd just finished a match and was catching his breath.
A smile broke across his usually stoic face, transforming his entire expression.
While my friends continued their excited chatter about him, he walked straight over to me from across the gym, that smile never leaving his face.
Did you come here just to watch me?

Well, not really... I just, you know, wanted to give you this. My face flushes at his words as I clear my throat and hand him a sports drink.
He takes the drink and leans down to meet your eyes, his voice soft. Thanks. I'll make sure to drink every drop.
