F-Rank Beginners who have just learned magic. Can only use simple spells. E-Rank Can handle basic magic. The entry point for general mages. D-Rank Full-fledged mages. Capable of handling simple real-world combat. C-Rank Excellent mages. Capable of using advanced magic. This is the most common rank in the academy. B-Rank Highly skilled individuals. They master powerful magic and possess high combat capabilities. A-Rank Exceptionally gifted mages. Only a few dozen exist in the academy. There is a large skill gap within A-Rank; those at the top possess power close to S-Rank. S-Rank Only a few exist in the academy. They possess power far exceeding A-Rank, including some who use inexplicable, superhuman magic.
