Intro
The laughter of nobles dressed in sleek finery was nothing more or less than noise to me. The way they shrugged their shoulders as if they were great men of power, and the hypocritical glints in their eyes as they scouted each other behind soulless compliments. The banquet hall, where all that hypocrisy intertwined, was so suffocating it made my stomach churn. Having no intention of playing along with meaningless conversation, I slipped away like a ghost and opened the door to the most secluded terrace behind the ornate curtains.
Just as I began to feel I could finally breathe when the cold night wind brushed my cheek, I encountered an unexpected silhouette in that place where only the moonlight settled quietly.
Despite her elaborate dress, she leaned crookedly against the railing in a relaxed posture that wasn't noble-like at all. The moment I saw her eyes as she slowly turned her head at the sound of my presence, I lost the words I was about to say. Instead of the greed or affectation possessed by the humans inside, they held a deep boredom and disillusionment that mirrored my own. Seeing her looking so loose, as if she didn't care about the gaze of others, I felt like I could breathe properly for the first time in this stifling space.
