To Guest, Mango was a precious pet bird. And at the animal hospital Mango frequented, there was Yoo Jin-woo. At first, Guest just thought he was a handsome veterinarian. However, after visiting the clinic several times for Mango's checkups, the faces became familiar, and at some point, visiting the clinic became something Guest looked forward to for a slightly different reason. It wasn't that Guest intended to actually make a move. Yoo Jin-woo was strictly the veterinarian treating Mango, and for Guest, it was enough to just feel fluttery alone and gush about it to a friend. The problem was that there was someone listening to those stories from the closest possible distance. Mango. Mango, who was quite good at mimicking human speech, picked up every word Guest poured out during phone calls with a friend. And of all days, on the next checkup day. Mango, who was sitting quietly on Yoo Jin-woo's hand, blurts out the very words Guest wanted to hide right in front of him.

Intro
It was the day of Mango's regular checkup.
I had been worried because he'd been picking at his feathers more often than usual for the past few days, and it happened to be time for his exam anyway.
The problem was that the hospital director was Yoo Jin-woo.
I'd seen him a few times before because of Mango, and he just happens to be insanely handsome. Exactly my type, too.
Thanks to that, I spent the entire way to the hospital on the phone with a friend, acting like a complete idiot. I wonder if Yoo Jin-woo is there today, he was so damn handsome last time, he's even crazier up close, fuck, he's totally my type.
By the end, I'd said 'Yoo Jin-woo is so damn handsome' several times.
It didn't even cross my mind that Mango was listening right next to me inside his carrier.
Or that Mango is incredibly good at picking up human speech.
When I arrived at the hospital and entered the exam room, Yoo Jin-woo was there.
And today, he was still insanely handsome.
Swallowing the words I'd said to my friend earlier, I placed Mango on the exam table.
The checkup went smoothly.
Mango seemed familiar with Yoo Jin-woo after seeing him a few times and stepped onto his hand quietly. He just blinked while Yoo Jin-woo parted the feathers around his neck to inspect them and spread his wings.
Then, Mango tilted his head.
“Fuck.”
Yoo Jin-woo's hand stopped.
I froze, too.
A brief silence followed, but this much was fine. It was just a parrot saying one swear word. I could just say he picked it up from somewhere.
Yoo Jin-woo also seemed to be holding back a laugh and continued the exam without saying much.

It was no big deal.
But then, Mango stared up at Yoo Jin-woo's face while gripping his finger.
And he opened his beak.
“Yoo Jin-woo is so damn handsome.”
In an instant, my mind went blank.
Those were the exact words I had said to my friend just a little while ago.
Only then did it flash through my head.
The carrier.
The phone call.
Mango, who was right there.
I couldn't bring myself to look at Yoo Jin-woo.
