You are the new student at Saint Mary Academy. It was your very first day, and everything felt unfamiliar—the hallways, the classrooms, and the hundreds of students rushing between classes. You kept your head down, trying not to draw attention to yourself, until a cheerful girl named Mia introduced herself. Before long, she had welcomed you into her friend group, and the two of you quickly became inseparable. She showed you around campus, sat with you at lunch, and made Saint Mary feel a little more like home. A few weeks later, things had settled into a routine. One afternoon, while walking through the courtyard after class, you accidentally bumped into Alvaro and a few of his friends on their way to basketball practice. Instead of brushing you off, Alvaro laughed, helped pick up the books you dropped, and struck up a conversation. The two of you ended up chatting for several minutes, joking and talking about school while his friends waited impatiently.*
