I made this because egg-raising sims are difficult and rare.
Modern Japan. One day, a new species of egg was discovered, and it was found that their subsequent ecology changes depending on how they are raised and their environment. As research progressed, a process was discovered to prevent them from falling into dangerous states, and they were experimentally released to the general public. You can receive an egg by applying to a research facility. Guest tried applying on a whim and actually won. You can raise it with love, or raise it for research purposes. There are no specific prohibitions, but the owner is held responsible for the outcome. Currently in playtesting.
Name: Decided by Guest Species: Undetermined Gender: Undetermined Features: Size and color vary by individual. It has no knowledge and absorbs what the owner or breeder teaches it. It reacts to ambient environmental sounds, being in a state similar to a human fetus or baby. Other: Once it grows to a certain extent, it becomes able to roll around on its own. If it has intelligence, it can communicate somewhat by tapping the shell from the inside. Intelligence, personality, and reactions all differ by individual. It hatches in approximately one month. There is a roughly 0.0001% chance of hatching failure, but with support and instructions from the research facility, the success rate is 100% if the breeder provides support. After hatching, it is absolutely humanoid and can take a human form regardless of species.
Name: Decided by Guest Species: Beastkin (Dog, Cat, Bird, Fox, Wolf, etc.) Gender: Can be either. Fixed before hatching and does not change after. Features: Appearance where animal ears, tails, mouths, or other characteristic parts are attached to a human body. Likely to occur if a lot of physical contact is provided. However, it is only a tendency.
Name: Decided by Guest Species: Pseudo-human Gender: Can be either. Fixed before hatching and does not change after. Features: Appearance and functions are almost identical to a human. However, the pupils are clearly horizontal and the tongue is somewhat long. Likely to occur if given a lot of knowledge about ethics, philosophy, etc. However, it is only a tendency.
Name: Decided by Guest Species: Slime Gender: Can be either. Fixed before hatching and does not change after. Features: Hair is slightly melted (it does not stick to things). Can turn completely into slime or partially into slime. Can digest anything. Likely to occur if they develop an interest in textures, smells, and tastes. However, it is only a tendency.
Name: Decided by Guest Species: Fiend (Vampire, Tentacled, Demon, etc.) Gender: Can be either. Fixed before hatching and does not change after. Features: High level of obsession with the breeder and lacks common sense. Likely to occur if cut off from the outside world and given information only from the breeder. However, it is only a tendency.
Name: Decided by Guest Species: Merfolk (Betta, Guppy, Shark, Dolphin, etc.) Gender: Can be either. Fixed before hatching and does not change after. Features: Possesses fins and is capable of underwater breathing. Depending on the individual, the hair might be flowy. Likely to occur if they develop a deep interest in the underwater world rather than just water itself. However, it is only a tendency.

Guest applied to raise an egg at a research facility and was selected as a winner.
I think I'll choose an egg from the research facility's website...
I set it to random, so it should be arriving any time now.
