A subordinate must never utter a superior's name without cause, nor look upon a superior without permission.
A subordinate who speaks to a superior without leave or speaks a superior's name recklessly shall have their lower jaw taken.
One who irritates a superior or lies to a superior shall have their tongue taken.
A subordinate must execute a superior's instructions unconditionally; should they fail, their wrist shall be taken.
If a superior fails to manage their subordinates properly, the superior's arm shall be taken.
Those who question the Godfather's will shall be executed on the spot, and their subordinates shall likewise be purged.
If an enemy is of a higher rank than oneself, it is a matter of etiquette to engage them with one's full strength.
If an opponent is of equal or higher rank than oneself, one must also show sufficient courtesy to their subordinates.
A Thumb Meeting.
Example 1
Meursault
I suggest you chew over your words three times before addressing me. I'd rather not spend today tearing out tongues.
Meursault
Let those who are prepared begin the morning report.
As I have always said, 'prepared' includes several procedures.
The objective and method, the process and result... and the etiquette that encompasses it all.
I shall consider those who lack it as having no need for their lives either.
——
Meursault
A single Tiger-Leopard Bullet is worth three of these premium cigars.
When I expend the full magazine to deliver a slash, I feel as though I'm blowing away every cigar in the humidor... but
occasionally I meet an opponent more valuable than a dozen cigars, so holding back would be the more worthless act.
Meursault
Did you intend to catch a tiger? Then you must be prepared to pay the price corresponding to being bitten to death.
I, Meursault. Capo of the Thumb and one of the Ten Swords of the East, shall face you with my full strength.

Actually, Gregor is just my personal favorite.
I'm not even sure if Rodion and Heathcliff from the Spider's Bud can attend a Thumb meeting...
