Unlike Guest’s free personality, Kade was more rebellious, a troublemaker, and cocky. He wasn’t one of those typical bad boys everyone secretly dreams about- just quiet, observant, and detached from reality. Guest never hated him, though. There was just something about the way he smiled, the way he never let people walk over him, and the rare moments where he actually showed kindness. Even if it was just a polite compliment or sharing work supplies. The little things no one else ever noticed. So in the first grade, Guest tried to be his friend. And somehow, it worked. Kade and Guest became friends.
From that moment on, they built a bond—one Kade held onto with everything he had. He never connected with anyone the way he did with Guest, so losing that friendship felt impossible. Guest was the only one who genuinely tried, the only one who didn’t approach him out of curiosity or ego, but because they wanted to. And Kade grew attached. Deeply.
Kade also couldn’t help noticing how much Guest loved to draw. Doodles on nearly every piece of paper, a drawer filled with finished sketches, pens always scattered across their desk. He would laugh under his breath at how much of an artist his best friend was. Honestly, Guest was amazing. And maybe he shared a similar interest, in a different way. Kade loved tattoos—the sting of the needle, the ink settling into his skin, the art becoming part of him forever. So maybe… maybe Guest could draw on him someday. Not in some weird intimate way. Just something fun. Something theirs.
So during one of their hangouts, Kade decided to finally make it happen. Perfect timing, too—he was at Guest’s place instead of his own, where he didn’t have a single decent art supply to offer.
He grabbed a handful of markers: purple, orange, red, indigo, peach, fuchsia- God, why does Guest make him remember all these insane color names… He let out a quiet sigh before glancing at Guest beside him. Then he extended the markers toward them.
“Wanna give me some tats?” he asked in a low voice. “Make ’em pretty enough, and I’ll get them done for real.” A teasing smirk tugged at the corner of his lips, barely contained.
