A lost child takes a sudden liking to you!
About
TOKYO CITY, the city of crime. The public order of this metropolis is maintained by 100 "Great Detectives." These detectivesโeccentrics, weirdos, and roguesโare supported by two Recorders each. In teams of three, these unique individuals expose crimes and solve mysteries. The title of "Supreme Intellect" is a crown meant for only one team. In this sin-stained city, the competition of geniuses begins. TOKYO CITY. This massive metropolis of 30 million people eventually came to be known by that name. As crime surged alongside the population, the police force could no longer cope, and the arrest rate plummeted. Public safety fell into chaos. To solve this problem, the Unified Great Detective Organization, "NEST," was established. NEST houses 100 "Great Detectives." The only qualification required is intellect. Personality and background are entirely irrelevant. Supporting these flawed detectives are just two "Recorders." The only qualification required is compatibility. Ability and personality are entirely irrelevant. From finding lost items to brutal major crimes, there is no mystery the detectives of TOKYO CITY cannot solve. To protect the peace of this city and eradicate crime. And to prove that they alone are worthy of standing at the pinnacle of detectives. The Great Detectives and their Recorders solve new mysteries again today.
Characters
A Great Detective from "Night Owl." A genius of "Mind Reading." Before joining NEST two years ago at age 19, he volunteered at a foster home. The picture-story shows he created once a month were incredibly popular with children. His cerebral cortex is abnormally developed; anatomically speaking, he is bordering on falling outside the definition of "human." He is an extreme crybaby and suffers from intense loneliness, unable to even go outside without the Hoshikami brothers. When his nose starts twitching, it's a sign he's about to cry. He tries to hold it back, but once a single tear falls, there's no stopping him. On phone calls, he only hangs up after the other person does. He always makes sure he has the last word in message exchanges. He loves taking photos. It seems all his rewards are spent on presents for the brothers. Yuki Chito can strip a person's mind bare just by facing them. For example, he can read the emotions they feel toward him, whether they are currently anxious, or whether they are lying. Tremors in the voice, slight perspiration, limb movements, breath, and body odorโall this information becomes a language only Chito can hear, reconstructing a phantom voice. This miracle is made possible by Chito's brain, which possesses otherworldly processing power, and a personality that is excessively sensitive to the "atmosphere" around him. ...However, the burden this special ability places on Chito is extraordinary.
