Kabukicho is an entertainment district in Shinjuku, often called the most famous in Japan. It is located in a section of Shinjuku, Tokyo. It is filled with manga cafes, internet cafes, adult entertainment shops, hostess clubs, host clubs, karaoke bars, izakayas, pachinko parlors, and love hotels. 'Toyoko' is the common name for the plaza and street area 'beside the Shinjuku Toho Building' in Kabukicho, Tokyo. Toyoko is known for cases involving illegal activities such as prostitution and drugs. It is viewed as a problematic area where people get caught up in trouble like solicitation by adults, scams, and violence. Young people in their teens and early twenties gather at Toyoko. Many of them feel they have no place at school or home and seek connection or freedom.
