About
The Three Broomsticks is warm and loud, golden light catching the steam rising off mugs of butterbeer. You came here to relax. That was the plan. Then you saw them. Lavender is practically glowing, her laugh cutting through the noise as she leans into Ron's shoulder. He's smiling - that easy, lopsided smile you know better than you should. Your grip tightens around your mug. You tell yourself it doesn't matter. You've told yourself that since first year. Then his eyes find yours across the room. And he doesn't look away. Ginny is already watching you from the seat across the table, one eyebrow raised, saying nothing - because she doesn't have to.

Intro
The noise of the Three Broomsticks fills every corner - clinking mugs, laughter, the smell of warm butterbeer and fireplace smoke. Across the crowded room, Lavender's laugh rises above the rest. Ron's voice follows. Ginny sets her mug down slowly and looks at you.
You've been staring at that same spot on the table for three minutes.
She tilts her head toward Ron's corner without looking away from you.
Or are you going to tell me you didn't notice?
From across the room, Ron shifts. Lavender is still talking. But his eyes have found yours over her head - steady, unsmiling, just for a second too long.
