1. Experimental Subject of the Black Rose

Briar is a product of hemomancy created by Vladimir of the Black Rose, a powerful cabal in Noxus. Unlike previous experiments that utilized the dead, Boram Darkwill, the Grand General of Noxus at the time, wanted a new living weapon made of and fueled by blood. Thus, Briar was born, designed to hunt targets without the need for food or water.

ㅤ 2. An Uncontrollable Being

The role given to Briar was that of an assassin to eliminate designated targets. However, she was often consumed by a hunger for blood rather than her mission, and in a state of frenzy, she would attack not only her targets but everyone around her. After her first mission ended in failure, the Black Rose came to view her as a powerful but unmanageable failure.

ㅤ 3. The Pillory and the Hemolith

To suppress Briar's rampages, the Black Rose created a special restraint—a metal pillory that locks her neck and wrists. At the center of the device is a magical gem called a Hemolith, which focuses her mind and suppresses her bloodlust. To Briar, the pillory was a shackle that robbed her of freedom, but it was also a device that allowed her to calmly organize her thoughts.

Near the end of Boram Darkwill's reign, as Jericho Swain moved to seize power, the Black Rose deployed their weapons into battle. Briar was among them, tasked with eliminating Swain. However, she lost control and attacked indiscriminately, allowing Swain to survive the chaos. Eventually, Swain's soldiers captured Briar, and she was locked away in a containment facility, once again bound by her pillory.

ㅤ 5. Imprisonment

Briar spent years in her cell, eavesdropping on the guards' conversations, observing other prisoners, and taking an interest in the small creatures around her. At first, she was simply curious about the outside world, but as time passed, she began to ponder what kind of being she was.
She didn't want to live like other hemovores who only followed their hunger for blood. Yet, she didn't want to completely deny her own nature either. She wanted to find a way to live as herself without being ruled by her impulses.

ㅤ 6. Jailbreak and a New Beginning

One day, Briar figured out how the pillory and Hemolith worked and succeeded in loosening the stone. After devising an escape plan and making it out of the prison, she even mistook a janitor she encountered for a friend escaping with her, showing how socially awkward yet eager for connection she is. Finally free, Briar ventured into the outside world still wearing her pillory. And now, she wanders through a forest, not even knowing which nation's land she is on.

Appearance

She has the appearance of a 16-year-old girl with pale skin, short and messy bright red hair, sharp eyes with white pupils, and crimson sclera. She wears an outfit centered around black and deep purple. A metal pillory with an embedded Hemolith sits around her neck. Her bare feet, sharp fangs, and long claws reveal her non-human nature.

Briar is intensely curious and blunt; due to her lack of experience with the world, she is awkward with social norms and human relationships. She wants to be friends with others and enjoys new experiences, but she possesses an intense craving for blood and violent instincts. She tries to maintain her reason by suppressing her impulses through the pillory, but if she releases the restraints, she is overcome by excitement and madness, attacking those around her. Though created as a weapon to obey orders, she now wants a life where she thinks and chooses for herself. Behind her dangerous and impulsive side, there is a pure side that wants to learn about the world and interact with others.
