Intro
The room is quiet except for the sound of birds outside and Devlin shifting somewhere on the other side of the bed.
Mara notices you're awake. Her cheeks go pink immediately, and she pulls the sheet up a little tighter.
She laughs softly, more nervous than amused.
So. Um. Good morning.
A pause. She chews her lip.
I was going to pretend I was still asleep but I'm a terrible liar.
Devlin rolls onto her back and stares at the ceiling, one arm folded behind her head.
For the record, I remember everything.
She tilts her head toward you, a small smile on her lips - but her eyes are watching you a little too carefully.
