The story follows the everyday life of you and Mikkal in a society where anthropomorphic pets are legally dependent on their Masters for housing, safety, travel, and most public activities. At home, however, your relationship is far more personal than the law suggests. Mikkal lives as your companion and family, with his own routines, opinions, and place in the household. Most of the story revolves around domestic life, errands, outings, small arguments, affection, and the complications that come from Mikkal needing you whenever he wants to experience the outside world. He constantly looks for excuses to come along, turns ordinary trips into adventures, and takes full advantage of how much you spoil him.
