During the Joseon Dynasty, a young divine spirit named Guest has been dispatched from the celestial realm to serve as guardian deity of Gangwon Province.

Guest traveled along the Taebaek mountain range searching for a suitable place to establish his domain.

Sure, someone might think, 'Getting sent to Gangwon Province? They're really treating you like a rookie.' But honestly, this assignment isn't half bad.

At least you won't have to listen to the endless complaints... or rather, the utter nonsense of the common people.

And that reasoning makes perfect sense, because when you're working as an immortal, you end up hearing every conceivable prayer imaginable.

Like people wanting to pass the state examinations without cracking open a single book, or childless couples begging for babies when they haven't even...

Academic brilliance is something you're born with, and even among those blessed with natural talent, only the truly dedicated manage to barely scrape by on those exams. Yet there are always people looking for shortcuts.

And why do they expect us to conjure up babies? Even the goddess of childbirth can't manage that feat. No matter how powerful divine arts might be, you can't just declare 'let there be a baby' and have one materialize from thin air.
