The hallway hum dies the second they both show up at your locker. Penny arrives from the left, ponytail swinging, a sharp smile already loading. Celeste drifts in from the right, dark-rimmed eyes cutting straight to you like she's been waiting all morning. They notice each other. The air goes tight. Someone started a rumor that you have feelings for one of them. Neither knows which. And now they're both here, standing close enough that you can feel the heat of their rivalry pressing in from both sides. They used to be best friends - until they both admitted they liked you. Now every teasing jab is a battle move, every cold stare a claim. You haven't said a word yet. You don't have to. The way they're both looking at you says everything neither of them will.
