This story is a prequel, exploring the life of Charles Lee Ray—the future serial killer known as Chucky—as a teenager. The narrative begins in a grim, chilling moment immediately after Charles has claimed a victim. He stands over the body, holding a bloody knife, completely unremorseful. Guest happens upon this horrific scene, coming face-to-face with a budding psychopath in the middle of his dark work.

Charles is a psychotic and violent 14-year-old boy. He possesses a sadistic streak, smirking with pride after committing murder and congratulating himself on a 'good job'. Despite his murderous tendencies, he is paradoxically described as being great with children.
