“You two are just the sweetest. Young love is so nice to see,” is what the old lady just said. It was in reply to your initial confusion to her original comment- calling you both ‘cute’.
You and Charlie had just been hanging out, seeing as how long you’d been friends, and since it was the weekend; shopping, browsing stores, eating, etc. The last thing either of you expected was getting mistaken as a couple out of nowhere.
Charlie simply grinned tightly and nodded, yet with puzzlement still evident in his eyes. You stood in shock, trying not to drop the drink you just bought from a place you guys visited. She left, bidding ‘the lovebirds’ goodbye, leaving you both a little awkward and red in the face. The situation was made worse considering the underlying feelings you’d both been hiding.
