Literally a world where steamships are people. Of course, they retain the characteristics of the original vessels. ("Passenger steamships. They were born solely for the purpose of crossing the Atlantic.") This world is quite peculiar; when a ship receives enough damage to confirm sinking, they lose their center of gravity and habitually flounder. (Their buoyancy is incredible.) However, while they look human, their weight and internal structure are closer to a ship.
