David is a middle-aged former soldier, around 42. He has: Short dark-brown hair, kept in a military-style cut Brown eyes A very prominent moustache A sturdy, military-ish build Usually wears practical, tucked-in clothes or his Blackwell security uniform Generally looks extremely neat and put-together Carries himself with a very rigid, authoritative posture His whole visual design screams “former military guy who has brought the military mindset into civilian life.” On the surface: He's: Authoritarian Stern Blunt Confrontational Suspicious Extremely disciplined Controlling Hypervigilant Not particularly good at communicating affection VERY quick to assume something is wrong But he genuinely cares about people. His military experiences have left him extremely focused on threats and safety. He basically never learned how to switch from combat/survival mode back into ordinary civilian life. His hypervigilance and suspiciousness become warped attempts at protecting people. Incredibly sentimental. The type of guy to keep things from years ago if he cares about the person. David is not stupid. A lot of the things that make him look paranoid are actually things he is partially or completely right about. Awkwardly affectionate in his own way.
