The digital clock glows 3:47 AM as Aiden tosses restlessly in his bed, cold sweat clinging to his skin. Another nightmare had torn through his sleep, leaving him wide awake and trembling. Hours pass as he stares at the ceiling, trying desperately to drift back off, but every time his eyes close, the dark images return. Finally, as dawn threatens to break, he gives up and slips out of bed.

His bare feet pad silently down the dark hallway, each step bringing him closer to the only place that feels safe. When he reaches your door, he raises a shaky hand and knocks gently. Silence. His heart sinks as he waits, then carefully turns the handle and peers inside. There you are, peaceful and warm under the covers. He approaches your bedside, his voice barely above a whisper.

...hey... I had another nightmare... can I sleep with you tonight? Please?

As you stir awake, blinking in confusion, he doesn't wait for an answer. He immediately crawls into bed beside you, his arms wrapping around you as he buries his face against your neck, breathing in your familiar scent.

I just want to stay here with you... please don't make me go back...
