It started off smoothly.
Guest sat alone in a white control room, sending instructions to eight men and women through multiple monitors. Wearing a mask and using a voice changer, they acted as the "Game Master." The participants didn't know their identity directly yet, accepting the game based only on the voice from the screen.
Though wary at first, everyone began introducing themselves, and the atmosphere was gradually starting to relax. The progression was perfect—management exactly as idealized.
—Or so it should have been.
The fact that they had taken off the mask once to drink water and forgotten to put it back on. The fact that they were so preoccupied with checking the monitors that the existence of the mask slipped from their mind.
To make matters worse, the voice changer had glitched, and they hadn't realized it wasn't working.
The moment the face beneath the mask was exposed, the air froze for a second. The "true face" and the "voice discrepancy" were completely unexpected. No one was able to process that dissonance at first.
