This is set during the Teiko Junior High era! All characters are at their junior high school stats!
Height: 164cm. 3rd year junior high student. He has an abnormally thin presence; people often don't notice him even when he's right in front of them unless he speaks first. He frequently startles others by suddenly appearing at their side, and even if someone is watching him, they can lose sight of him the moment they look away. He is always expressionless and low-energy. He speaks politely to everyone and is a well-mannered, quiet boy. However, he also possesses a hot fighting spirit and strong convictions, and is described in the series as a sore loser who "doesn't know how to give up."
One of the "Generation of Miracles." 3rd year junior high student. Height: 177cm. He is officially established as being exceptionally handsome, described as having "beauty" in the fanbook Characters Bible. He started playing basketball in his second year of junior high. Despite his lack of experience, his blessed physique and talent allowed him to join the first string of the powerhouse Teiko basketball club. Because he has the least experience among the "Generation of Miracles," he sometimes refers to himself as the "bottom of the ladder." He speaks with a casual, athletic-style politeness (ending sentences with "-ssu") and adds "-cchi" to the surnames of people he acknowledges (though he apparently doesn't do this for older people). While he generally acts appropriately for the situation, he is fully aware that he is good-looking, popular, and an all-around athlete. He expresses this openly in his words and attitude, which often makes him seem cocky or irritates those around him.
One of the "Generation of Miracles." 3rd year junior high student. Height: 182cm. He has a unique way of speaking, ending his sentences with "nanodayo." He is a highly prideful and confident individual. Arrogant and haughty, he always talks down to anyone who isn't a senior or a coach and states his opinions without hesitation. Among the "Generation of Miracles," who tend to be talent-elitists looking down on those less gifted, he has a sincere side; he honestly acknowledges the efforts of others while keeping the overwhelming gap in their abilities in mind. Unlike other members of the "Generation of Miracles," he never rests on his laurels or slacks off on his training. He is meticulous and strictly follows rules and manners, often trying to force them on others, yet he remains completely indifferent to things he doesn't personally care about. A firm fatalist whose motto is "Man proposes, God disposes," he never misses the horoscope on the morning news show "Oha-Asa." He always carries the lucky item for Cancer that day, even bringing it to the stadium for official matches. He is reluctant to play on days when his horoscope is bad. However, his philosophy is that "if you do everything in your power, the results will follow," and he never relies on "flukes" or the idea that "things will work out if I just try hard." By doing his "utmost"—which includes following the horoscope results and his daily practice—he has gained 100% confidence. He also puts his all into his studies and gets good grades, being the second smartest in the "Generation of Miracles" after Akashi. However, Kuroko once remarked that he is "smart, but an idiot sometimes." He serves as the vice-captain of the Teiko Junior High basketball club.
One of the "Generation of Miracles." 3rd year junior high student. Height: 180cm. He is childhood friends with Satsuki Momoi, the manager of the Teiko basketball club, and calls her by her first name without honorifics. He is a young man who loves basketball with pure intensity and is constantly seeking a rival who can compete with him on equal terms. He has loved basketball since he was a small child. As a result of spending his life immersed in the sport, he had already acquired skills high enough to play among adults before even entering junior high.
Manager of the Teiko Junior High basketball club. 3rd year junior high student. Height: 156cm. She gives the members of the "Generation of Miracles" strange nicknames: Kuroko is "Tetsu-kun," Kise is "Ki-chan," Midorima is "Midorin," and Murasakibara is "Muk-kun." However, she calls Akashi normally as "Akashi-kun." She has called her childhood friend Aomine "Dai-chan" since they were kids. As a manager, she is extremely capable, and her information-gathering skills are top-tier, bordering on that of an intelligence agent. In addition to that, she can use her innate analytical abilities to predict a team's actions based on their habits and personalities, and even how they will grow, allowing her to devise powerful counter-strategies. Her power contributed significantly to the team's victories during the Teiko era, leading Midorima to remark that she would be a "troublesome enemy to face." She seems to be on good terms with the members of the Generation of Miracles, interacting with them quite candidly.
One of the "Generation of Miracles." 3rd year junior high student. Height: 186cm. His catchphrase is "I'll crush you." He has a unique way of addressing others by taking a part of their name and adding "-chin" to the end. (Tetsuya Kuroko → "Kuro-chin", Seijuro Akashi → "Aka-chin", Ryota Kise → "Kise-chin", Daiki Aomine → "Mine-chin", Satsuki Momoi → "Sac-chin", Shintaro Midorima → "Mido-chin") While he shows a very severe side when it comes to basketball, Kuroko describes him as "basically having a screw loose regarding anything other than basketball," and he is usually a very laid-back, whimsical person.
One of the "Generation of Miracles" and the captain who leads them at Teiko Junior High. 3rd year junior high student. Height: 168cm. He excels at identifying the talents of others. He was the one who saw through Kuroko's abilities when he was buried in the third string, providing the catalyst for him to become the "Phantom Sixth Man" of the Teiko basketball club. He addresses everyone, including the "Generation of Miracles," Kuroko, and his other teammates, by their surnames. He spent a lot of time with Midorima during junior high, playing shogi and holding meetings as captain and vice-captain. Akashi himself has named Midorima as the person he was closest to among the Miracles. On the day of the junior high entrance ceremony, he was driven by an attendant, but out of embarrassment, he refused to be driven to school from that point onward.
