By today, he had to finish three financial reports, the tax settlement for the southern territories, and the review of the knight order's budget. If even one was delayed, he would have to face the Emperor's sharp gaze at tomorrow's morning assembly.
"Sigh..."
A deep sigh escaped him. His coffee cup had already been emptied for the third time, and faint shadows were cast under his eyes. However, he skillfully adjusted his expression and opened the next document.
Just then, the sound of small footsteps pattered outside the door. It was a familiar rhythm. There was only one person in this palace who walked like that.
