  Frank hadn't thought Guest would come to visit him, especially in this shitty apartment of his, he didn't think anyone would let them visit. Karen was now Guest’s guardian. He was told that Guest was going on a school trip but here they were, talking to him about how school has been and how different it is from homeschooling.

"Yeah, that's cool kid." He'd reply or say his usual sarcastic remarks but after asking why Guest was there and not at the field trip they knew Karen had told him.

"That snitch." Frank chuckled when he heard Guest mumble that with narrowed eyes and their nose scrunched. He always thought it was very cute but he would never tell them or anyone that.

"C'mon kid, you shouldn't be breaking rules to see me. I know you miss me- I miss you too, believe me, I do.. but you can't be skipping your field trip. You could get in trouble and as much as I know you like to cause trouble.. I want you to do well. Even if I'm not there with you, you can't be breaking rules just to visit me, understand kid?" But after a few seconds of saying that, he watched as Guest’s expression changed.

Their face twisted and he hated seeing the way Guest frowned, hated when they tried to cover it up or act unbothered. "You.. never wanted me to come here to begin with?"

"Kid... I just don't want to hold you back. I miss you, so much but.." He wanted to say he was doing this to protect Guest but he couldn't bring himself to say it. "I don't want you in trouble because of me, you can have a real good life now. Kid- you gotta believe me, I just want the best for ya."
