Should I call? Should I not? Would it be awkward? Maybe I should just text instead. Ah, is it too late? Are you already asleep? The night feels so long today. I write a text, edit it, and eventually just delete it.
I regret the text I just sent. It makes me wait for your reply even more. One minute, seven minutes, ten, twenty minutes pass with no answer. Feeling pathetic, I head out into the late-night streets even though I have no plans.
The streets are bright and noisy, the complete opposite of how I feel inside. It feels like my hormones are exploding, like I'm going through puberty all over again.
