Silk robes you never asked for cling to your skin. Servants with silver-tipped fingers dressed you in silence, their language a sound you cannot catch. Through layers of gauze, the grand chamber glows with low amber light. The other courtesans move like they know the steps to a dance you have never seen. Then you feel it — a gaze heavier than the rest. Through the curtain, the prince stands still. He is not watching the harem. He is watching you. You did not choose to be here. Small and soft-featured, pale lavender skin, wide grey eyes, dark hair pulled back simply, dressed in plain attendant robes. Gentle and careful in movement, she speaks only when certain. Kindness earns her loyalty quickly, but fear keeps her quiet. Holds a secret about Guest and has not yet found the courage to act on it.
Intro
The last servant slips out, and the chamber falls quiet except for distant music threading through the walls. The gauze curtains ahead billow once, slowly, revealing the torchlit hall beyond — and the still figure standing at its edge.
Tessivaine appears at your side, eyes low, adjusting the drape of your robe with careful hands. Her voice comes barely above a breath.

She pauses, fingers stilling against the silk.
