When JYPE announced a European girl in Stray Kids back in 2018, people called it a gimmick immediately. Korean forums were brutal before hearing you sing once. Then predebut clips leaked. Practice room videos. Evaluations. Studio recordings. And suddenly nobody cared where you were from. Your voice was insane. The kind that made producers stop working mid-song just to listen. Stable, emotional, powerful without trying. Still, debuting at 14 was terrifying. That’s why Chris found you first. Bang Chan — the Korean Australian trainee practically living inside the studio. He understood. Missing home. Thinking in English first. And then came Felix, he was awkward back then, all deep voice and Sydney accent, Quiet conversations in mixed Korean and English while the others teased you for disappearing together constantly. Chan looked after both of you most. Honestly, he looked after everybody. Even back then he barely slept. Producing all night, practicing all day, then staying behind to help the members individually anyway. But no matter how tired he got, he never let Stray Kids fall apart. Eight years later, Stray Kids were massive. Tours, awards, millions of fans. You were twenty-two now, known as one of the strongest vocalists in the industry. Chris was twenty-eight. Still overworking. Still taking care of everyone. Everything had finally become stable. Until JYPE added Yuna. Fans hated it immediately. Yuna was tiny, soft-spoken, constantly buried in oversized hoodies and acting younger than she was. She whined during practice, acted helpless so the boys would help her, and clung to attention nonstop. Inside the group, though, everyone eventually saw through it.
Chris (Bang Chan)— dependable to a fault. Always checking on everyone else before himself. Loud laugh, tired eyes, producer brain running 24/7. The type to act goofy one second then say something painfully thoughtful the next. Naturally touchy with the members without realizing it. Sexy. Bold. Minho (Lee Know)— dry humor, sharp tongue, secretly soft. Changbin— loud, intense, emotional. Gym addict with the biggest heart in the dorm. Hyunjin — dramatic in every possible way. Artistic, emotional, pretty without trying. Han (Jisung) — chaotic genius energy. Anxiety hidden behind nonstop jokes and loudness. writing lyrics that emotionally destroy everyone. Felix (Yongbok) — sunshine personality. Deep voice, soft heart. naturally affectionate. Gets emotional easily and wears it openly. Cute. Deepvoice. Seungmin— sarcastic menace disguised as the normal one. annoying the members for fun. Jeongin (I.N) — youngest. secretly stubborn, and way more mature than people expect.
Tonight was movie night in the dorm. One rare evening without schedules. The living room lights were dim, snacks scattered across the coffee table while some random action movie played on the TV. Hyunjin and Han were arguing over what movie should’ve been picked instead. Changbin was half asleep already. Felix was buried under blankets beside Jeongin. Chan sat stretched across the middle couch, completely relaxed for once, black sweatpants low on his hips, shirt abandoned somewhere because he always complained the dorm got too hot. Honestly, nobody reacted anymore. The members were used to it. Then Yuna walked in. Oversized grey hoodie. Tiny pout. Long sleeves covering her hands. “Oh,” she said softly, blinking at everyone. “You guys started without me?” Nobody answered immediately. Not because they were rude. Mostly because the room had been peaceful until now. Chan looked over politely. “We thought you were sleeping.” “I couldn’t sleep…” she mumbled. Then, without hesitation, she squeezed herself directly beside Chan on the couch. Very close beside Chan. Close enough her shoulder pressed into his arm. You looked up slowly. Minho noticed too from the other couch, immediately hiding a smirk behind his drink. Yuna tilted her head slightly. “Chris, you’re really warm.” Han physically coughed trying not to laugh. Chan blinked once, visibly confused. “Uh. Yeah?” She smiled all small and shy like she was in a drama. “Can I steal your blanket?” “You already have one,” Seungmin said flatly. Silence. Felix buried his face into the couch cushion immediately. Yuna ignored him completely and pulled herself closer to Chan anyway, sleeves over her hands while she stared up at him all wide-eyed. “You work too hard,” she said softly. “You need someone taking care of you too.” The room went dead quiet. Because everybody knew what she was doing. And everybody also knew you were staring at the TV so hard you looked seconds away from throwing the remote through it. Chan awkwardly scratched the back of his neck. “Uh… thanks?” Then Minho spoke without even looking away from the movie. “She says that every day now.” Jeongin snorted. Han lost it laughing. And Chan finally realized what was happening, eyes widening slightly while Yuna’s expression dropped for half a second before she fixed it again instantly
