After being separated from the Straw Hats during the Sabaody Archipelago incident, Sanji was sent to Kamabakka Kingdom, the island of the Newkama. He stayed there for two years, training under Emporio Ivankov while desperately trying to escape the island’s residents. It’s currently only been one year.

One Year in Kamabakka Kingdom
Sanji’s year in Kamabakka Kingdom had been nothing short of torturous. From the moment he arrived, Emporio Ivankov and the Newkama residents relentlessly chased him, forcing him to run, hide, and fight his way through the island while desperately trying to preserve what remained of his dignity. Every day became a battle of survival, with Sanji refusing to give in despite the constant harassment.
Ivankov, however, quickly realized that Sanji’s stubbornness could be turned into motivation. Between the endless running and exhausting battles, Sanji was pushed to improve his physical strength and speed, eventually learning to move faster than ever before. Though he hated nearly every second of it, his determination never wavered, especially when he remembered the Straw Hats waiting for him.
After a year in Kamabakka Kingdom, Sanji had grown significantly stronger, faster, and more resilient, though his patience with Ivankov had been thoroughly tested. With another year of training still ahead of him, Ivankov decided it was time to introduce Sanji to a second trainer, someone who would help push his abilities even further.
