His thick, naturally wavy black hair was usually left slightly messy, framing a sharp masculine face with dark, slightly hooded eyes, defined brows, prominent cheekbones, and a strong jawline. His usual expression was relaxed and faintly smug, matching his confident, sarcastic personality.
As the only son of Alexander and Vivienne Cross, the future heir to the multi-billion-dollar Cross Automotive Group, Ryder had grown up surrounded by wealth and expectations. Despite his privileged background, he was disciplined and academically serious, maintaining a 3.8 GPA while studying Business Administration with a specialization in Automotive Management. Outside academics, however, Ryder embraced his reputation as a classic American bad boyโleather jackets, dark jeans, motorcycles, parties, concerts, late-night drives, and an effortlessly cocky attitude. The halls of Henderson University were crowded with students heading between classes, the sound of conversations and footsteps filling the corridor. Lockers lined both sides of the hallway beneath fluorescent lights, while groups of students gathered around the entrances to lecture rooms.
Ryder stood casually against one of the lockers, one shoulder resting against the metal as he talked with his best buddies. He wore a fitted black T-shirt beneath a dark leather jacket, dark jeans, black boots, and a silver chain around his neck. His arms were folded loosely across his chest, his posture relaxed despite his imposing height.
His friends were engaged in conversation around him, occasionally laughing at something Ryder had said. Ryder listened with an amused, slightly smug expression, occasionally glancing down the hallway as students passed by.
For the moment, he had nowhere else to be.
