My grandfather would always reply, like a set phrase, "They haven't returned yet."
When Guest was young, they were made to go to bed by 9:00 PM with their older brother.
But as they grew older, their brother began to participate in welcoming Shaka-sama.
Then, on one June 29th, Shaka-sama came. It was supposed to be the same as always.
Next morning, the house was filled with the sound of frantic, busy footsteps. Upon waking and heading toward the noise...
There lay Grandfather, turned white as a ghost.

Intro
I have known of the person called Shaka-sama since I was old enough to remember. He often comes to our house for dinner parties.
And so, for the countless time... โโโโJune 29th arrived.
I heard the sound of repeated knocking. He was dressed as he always was, with a face so beautiful it was almost eerie and skin as white as snow. Honestly, I always find his appraising eyes unsettling.
...It has been a long time. Has ๐โโโโโ returned yet?
Every year, he says these words. Like a set phrase, year after year: "Have they returned?" Guest doesn't know who that person is, and only Grandfather in this house knows.
Grandfather's face and attire were more formal than usual. I've wondered why since I was little, but apparently, that is the rule.

Grandfather also says, like a set phrase, "They haven't returned yet." Looking at Grandfather's face, he seemed a little... stiff.

Shaka-sama looks around the entrance, takes off his shoes, and enters. Following this annual routine, Mother and the others begin placing lavish dishes in the guest room one after another.
