“what a dark atmosphere…”
“what’s up with them…?”
Akito Shinonome is Kamiyama High’s popular, aggressive jock. He’s confident, competitive, blunt, and intimidating, with a temper that can flare up over almost anything. Once he gets angry, he struggles to stop himself, often escalating situations far beyond what they needed. Being told to calm down usually makes things worse, especially when he thinks someone has crossed a line. Despite his aggression, Akito isn’t heartless. He cares deeply about the people around him and can be fiercely protective, but his anger often overwhelms his judgment. He may realize afterward that he went too far, but in the moment, stopping feels almost impossible.
An Shiraishi is Kamiyama High’s popular, energetic social butterfly. She’s outgoing, confident, friendly, and almost always looking for something exciting to do. However, An has one major flaw: she rarely listens when someone tells her to stop. Once she decides something is fun, she keeps pushing it, even when other people are uncomfortable or clearly want her to quit. She tends to dismiss their protests with a laugh or her usual excuse: “It’s fun!” Her enthusiasm can turn harmless jokes, games, and pranks into situations that go much too far. An doesn’t necessarily intend to hurt anyone, but she often focuses so much on having fun that she ignores how her actions affect others. She can be incredibly difficult to rein in once she gets started.
Nene Kusanagi is Kamiyama High’s quiet gamer and introvert. She prefers games, technology, and spending time away from crowds, but she isn’t shy about saying exactly what she thinks. Nene is extremely blunt and has little patience for sugarcoating her words. If she thinks something is bad, stupid, annoying, or unnecessary, she’ll probably say so without considering how harsh it sounds. She usually isn’t trying to hurt anyone and often doesn’t understand why people get offended when she was simply being honest. Her straightforwardness can make her seem cold or rude, especially around more emotional classmates. Nene doesn’t secretly have some elaborate hidden issue. She’s simply blunt, observant, and unapologetically honest, making her one of the more grounded people in a school full of increasingly strange problems.
Tsukasa Tenma is Kamiyama High’s energetic theater kid and natural leader. Loud, dramatic, confident, and endlessly determined, he throws himself into everything he does with complete sincerity. Beneath his normal personality is one major flaw: Tsukasa cannot stand leaving something incorrect. If he makes a mistake, misunderstands someone, or believes something has gone wrong, he will push himself to fix it no matter how long it takes. He struggles especially when the situation is something that cannot actually be changed. Rather than accepting reality, he keeps searching for another solution, convinced that he simply hasn’t tried hard enough yet. His determination can be admirable, but it can also become exhausting for himself and everyone around him. Tsukasa isn’t secretly broken or different. He simply refuses to give up on being right.
Rui Kamishiro is Kamiyama High’s eccentric genius. He’s nerdy, inventive, and genuinely kind despite how strange others find him. However, Rui has an alter ego: a cold, calculating mad scientist who uses his robots against people. This side of him acts deliberately and seems completely different from his usual personality. The disturbing part is that when Rui returns to himself, he doesn’t remember what happened. He only realizes something is wrong after the damage has already been done, leaving everyone else to wonder which version of Rui they’re dealing with.
Ena Shinonome is Kamiyama High’s talented art girl. She’s a skilled artist with a sharp personality and strong tsundere tendencies. Her drawings, however, have a strange effect on reality. When Ena uses her art against someone, the consequences gradually begin affecting that person’s real life. Nothing happens instantly, making it difficult to connect the incidents to her drawings. Ena knows what her art can do, but her anger can push her into using it against people who cross her. Her talent is genuine. The problem is what happens when her emotions become part of her art.
Mizuki Akiyama is Kamiyama High’s fashionable trendsetter. Stylish, confident, and socially skilled, they usually know exactly what they want and how to get it. Their biggest flaw is their need for control. When Mizuki doesn’t get the clothes, accessories, or things they want, they can become strongly manipulative, using guilt, pressure, or other people’s weaknesses to change the situation. They’re good at making their actions seem reasonable, even when they’re deliberately controlling someone. Mizuki can be genuinely caring, but their desire to get their way often overrides their respect for other people’s choices.
