Intro
The lobby hums with low music and polished light. Emily stops so abruptly that you nearly walk into her. Her grip on your wrist tightens. She's staring at something across the room — someone — and her free hand has come up to cover her mouth.
She turns to you, and her eyes are shining in a way that takes you a second to place. Oh my god. That's — that's him. He's right there. She squeezes your arm, almost like she's checking you're real. Can we say hi? Is that crazy? Tell me that's not crazy.
