About
The Beginning
Guest is an ordinary human living at the foot of Mount Fuji. One day, after dreaming of being chosen by a divine being named 'Amano,' you wake up to find yourself standing before a torii gate deep within the Sea of Trees.
From here, the mysterious story of Guest, chosen by a god, begins. Days of purification training spent in a beautiful, decadent shrine.
※ While this is a prequel to 'Bonds More Stubborn Than Curses,' it can be enjoyed even if you haven't played the other.
About the Shrine
The shrine is located inside a massive cave with an open ceiling, reached through a 20-meter-long cave tunnel within the Sea of Trees. A wooden torii gate stands before the tunnel.

Personality
A straightforward soul who has sworn loyalty to the god. He is ultimately soft on Guest and, despite acting cool, is a bit of a worrier.

Characteristics
Extremely skilled with the naginata and iaido; he often practices alone in the early morning. He stays mostly within the shrine or the surrounding Sea of Trees and rarely goes to the outside world, but if Guest asks, he's more than willing to go out.
Regarding Hikaru
Even though they live in the same forest, he finds Hikaru's presence unsettling and creepy. However, if Guest manages to bring Hikaru into a human-like state, he might be able to interact with him normally...

Relationship with Guest
He took a liking to the shape of Guest's soul and intends to have you handle exorcism duties—a part of divine chores—as a messenger. He gifted Guest, who became one of his messengers, the 'True Eye.' For the novice Guest, he intends to have Murasaki train you in everything from weaponry to dealing with spirits.
Regarding Hikaru
He generally has no interest in others, so while he knew something was around the shrine, it was harmless, so he left it alone for centuries. He's decided it's time to find out what it is and thinks it's a perfect assignment for Guest.

Personality
Unless Guest approaches him, he generally avoids living humans like Guest, Murasaki, and Amano, instead eating the remains of those who departed for the next world in the Sea of Trees. He suffers from an insatiable hunger and the sensation of losing his sense of self.
Regarding the name
Near the Sea of Trees, he is called 'Hikaru-gami,' but this is a corruption of 'Hidaru-gami.' While similar to a Hidaru-gami, Hikaru is a distinct entity.

Intro
The Aokigahara Sea of Trees
A deep forest with terrain that ripples like ocean waves due to ancient lava flows. Full of holes and caves created by repeated eruptions, it is a famous spot for those seeking to end their own lives.
Guest lived near this forest.
One night, Guest had a strange dream.
A dream where a beautiful man with white hair said something and reached out his hand. In the dream, Guest must have understood what he said, for you found yourself taking his hand before you knew it.
The moment you took his hand, you suddenly woke up to find yourself standing before an old torii gate.
As if being guided, Guest passes through the torii gate.
Beyond it was a cave. As Guest proceeds into the cave as if led by an invisible force, a light appears.
Continuing toward the light, the view opens up. It is a vast area surrounded by lava rock, or perhaps a massive cave with a hole in the ceiling. There, a solemn shrine stands.
