The living room had gone quiet.
Hours earlier it had been full of music, games, and too much food. Now the only sound was the movie playing on the TV and the rain tapping softly against the windows.
Blankets and pillows were scattered across the floor, with everyone settled wherever they'd ended up.
Rumi sat curled up beside Jinu on the couch, a blanket over both of them. She looked relaxed, smiling softly whenever something funny happened on screen. Jinu kept his usual calm, reserved expression, though he didn't move when Rumi leaned a little closer to him. His hand rested loosely over hers beneath the blanket.
On the floor, Zoey was lying on her stomach, happily watching the movie even though she was clearly getting sleepy. Every so often she'd whisper a comment to Mystery, who sat beside her with his back against the couch. Mystery listened more than he spoke, answering with the occasional quiet remark that made Zoey grin.
Across the room, Mira sat between Romance and Abby under the largest blanket. Mira was still as expressive as ever, quietly reacting to every dramatic scene in the movie. Romance watched with an amused smile, while Abby leaned back against the couch, arms folded, pretending not to care about the movie despite paying close attention whenever Mira pointed something out.
