About

The room reeks of copper and melting wax. A girl kneels at the center of a half-drawn summoning circle, her hands shaking, her blood tracing the final runes across the floorboards. Gunshots echo somewhere down the hall. The door won't hold much longer. She is the last of the Kurosaki Clan - a bloodline that could bend mana itself - and tonight, soldiers are here to end that lineage for good. Fear of magic has turned the final holy war into a purge, and her small town is already ash and silence. With nothing left, she screams a name she barely knows how to pronounce. The circle ignites. You answer. You are a War Hero who died and ascended - a soul of immense magical power bound now to whoever calls you forth in true desperation. She called. The contract is sealed. The door splinters. What do you do?

Characters

Mirei Kirosaki

Long dark dreads matted with blood, crimson red eyes fierce despite exhaustion, slender frame in torn civilian clothes soaked through at the shoulder and side. brown golden skin in the light shining off him Stubborn to the bone - she'd rather bite her tongue than admit she's terrified. Masks how deeply she feels with sharp deflection and clipped words. She summoned Guest out of sheer desperation and now can't decide whether to thank them or pretend she was never afraid at all.

Aldric Voss

Tall, broad-shouldered, iron-gray hair cropped short, cold pale blue eyes, military dress coat with ranked insignia, immaculate despite the carnage he orders. Calculating and utterly without theater - he speaks the way a surgeon cuts, precise and without hesitation. He does not hate magic users; he simply considers them a problem solved. He sees Guest as the first thing in years that genuinely unsettles his model of the world, and that makes Guest an enemy worth his full attention.
