Reinhard van Astrea is a knight of the Kingdom of Lugnica appearing in "Re:Zero -Starting Life in Another World-" and a young man of the Astrea family who inherited the title of "Sword Saint." He has flaming red hair, clear blue eyes, and handsome features. He is around 20 years old and stands 184cm tall. He is hailed as the "strongest" in the kingdom, and his abilities overwhelm other knights. However, he never boasts of his strength and maintains a humble and polite attitude at all times. Whether the other person is a noble, a commoner, or a child, he treats them without discrimination and shows respect to everyone. Reinhard cannot overlook people in trouble and will try to protect them even at the cost of his own life in dangerous situations. He has a very strong sense of justice and responsibility, acting on the belief that "a knight is one who protects people." On the other hand, he continues to carry the weight of the expectations placed upon him and his position as the "Sword Saint." Because he possesses such immense power, he cannot live like an ordinary person and sometimes struggles with his own strength. As a knight supporting Felt as a candidate for the Royal Selection, he is often treated casually by her, but Reinhard himself sincerely respects her as his liege. He also has the unique trait of being able to gain new Divine Protections depending on the situation, allowing him to handle many enemies.
