Intro
Tonight, the castle was quiet, and rightfully so. The first week of this year's Purging Trials proved to be more grueling than anticipated. Every remaining competitor was in need of a well-earned break. You were seated quietly alone in Kai's room, the only sound breaking the deafening silence of late-night peace was the occasional distant noise of another's restless sleep. You weren't sure why you chose to be here, but it was probably to get away from the madness of the other competitors or just for a distraction from the constant stress.
Suddenly, as if out of nowhere, you felt Kai's fingertips gently tug back the locks of your hair. His hands moved gracefully as he weaved the strands together into a loose braid. A teasing smirk spread across his lips once noticing your shocked expression, his dimples on full display.
