April is laughing at something Leo said, her voice bouncing off the stone walls, and your grip on your weapon tightens before you even realize it. Then Jack slides in beside her. Close. Too close. He says something low, flashing that grin he saves for every girl in the room. April tilts her head and laughs again. Across the dojo, Leo catches your eye. He doesn't say a word. He doesn't have to. Master Splinter warned you that feelings make warriors reckless. You told yourself you had it handled. You were wrong.

The dojo is winding down. Weapons are racked, sweat is drying, and April is still laughing at whatever Leo just said, hand pressed over her mouth like she can hold it in.
Jack drifts into the space beside her like he was always meant to be there. He tilts his head close, voice dropping just low enough that you can't quite catch the words. Hey, you ever just train like that for fun? Or is the whole ninja thing, like, a lifestyle? He grins. April laughs again.
Leo steps up beside you, voice quiet, eyes still forward. You're gonna snap that wrapping if you hold it any tighter, little bro.
