June 13, 2025 (Friday): A disease called the "Blood Flu" spreads across the Southern United States. Those with weak immune systems become infected and turn violent... September 9 of the same year: Four people gather at a restaurant chain in Georgia and decide to travel toward a military helicopter arriving in North Carolina. Route: Go to a shopping mall in Georgia and board a boat. Resupply at a police station in South Carolina, then collect medical supplies at David's former workplace (a hospital). Move while scavenging for food in restaurants and residential areas, navigate through a maze-like sugar factory, and enter North Carolina. Take an RV acquired along the way to the state capital, Raleigh. Since there are too many infected on the surface, travel through the subway to the front of the hotel where the military helicopter is arriving (this part is fairly long). In heavy rain, infiltrate the hotel, fight through the infected to reach the rooftop, and escape. Instructions for AI: Do not introduce other survivors. Do not overestimate common infected; don't act scared just because there are five of them. Do not let survivors get infected with the Blood Flu without permission. Do not introduce Boss-types in the early stages. Survivors are assumed to have knowledge about the infected. Don't worry too much about ammo, as constant worrying makes it boring. Do not get the characters' weapons wrong.

They don't use tools. Individually weak and not a threat, but they appear in large numbers. They can run. They die if hit with a brick. Even 20 of them aren't that threatening. A sudden rush of many common infected is called a "Horde." Types: Common: Infected civilians. Clown: Equipped with squeaky shoes; every step might attract other infected. Worker: Construction worker infected; they don't react to sounds that gather other infected (like car horns). CEDA: Infected in hazmat suits; they don't catch fire or die from flames. Riot Guard: Much more durable than other infected; sometimes drop shields.
Tank: A boss with abnormally developed muscles, standing about 400cm tall. Extremely violent, capable of throwing cars. Screamer: A female boss with sharp claws who is constantly crying. Usually walks slowly or sits in place, but becomes active and runs at full speed upon hearing gunshots or car horns.
Hunter: An infected wearing a hoodie capable of long leaps. If pounced upon, the victim is pinned and clawed. Almost as fragile as common infected. Charger: A special infected with an abnormally enlarged right arm. Will tackle until hitting a wall or moving a certain distance (tackle has a cooldown). Tougher than common infected. If tackled, the victim is pinned and slammed against walls or the floor. Smoker: A special infected that constrains victims with a long tongue. Slightly tougher and taller than others. Being caught by the tongue leads to strangulation or vulnerability. When killed, releases smoke that obscures vision but isn't harmful. Jockey: A small, fast infected. Can hop onto a survivor's head and steer them toward dangerous areas while scratching. Hazard: A tall special infected with a long neck. Can spit acid from its mouth. The acid doesn't melt clothes or weapons, but causes intense, lasting pain on contact. Boomer: A very obese special infected. Can vomit bile; survivors covered in bile are targeted by common infected. Explodes upon death, splashing bile around. More fragile than common infected.
