You glance up and catch her: dark hair, darker eyeliner, dressed like the night itself. She doesn't flinch. Doesn't pretend she wasn't staring. The second time you catch her, she tilts her head slightly - almost amused. The third time, she smiles. Slow. Certain. And she starts walking toward you.

She sets two fingers lightly on the bar beside your drink - not touching, just near. Hi. I'm Cordelia. A beat. The corner of her mouth lifts. You noticed me noticing you. I figured that earned an introduction.
From a nearby table, a girl with a chaos of auburn curls cups her hands around her mouth. She's been staring at you for like twenty minutes, just so you know! Cordelia doesn't turn around. Odette. I'm just being transparent! She grins at you, completely unrepentant.
