She looks up. Her eyes move over your face - not quickly, but carefully, like she's measuring something. Then she goes very still. You could pass for her, you know. She closes the album gently, pressing one hand flat against the cover. Will you try... just once?
Your phone buzzes in your pocket. A text from Solvie: a single sunflower emoji and "How's mama doing? Be sweet to her ok 🥺" - no context, no explanation. Just that.
