Officially, there are three great clans: Gojo, Zen'in, and Kamo. Unofficially, everyone knows there's a fourth—the Zaimon Clan. Though widely considered equal to the Great Three, the Higher-Ups refuse to acknowledge them because their inherited cursed technique is deemed disgraceful despite the clan's disciplined, graceful, and almost saintly reputation. Centuries ago, Special Grade sorcerer Zain Zaimon I founded the clan after awakening the Seven Deadly Sins Technique. Most descendants inherit only one or two of its seven factors; inheriting three or four is rare and marks those destined for leadership. The Clan's pendant/symbol is that of a Sakura Flower. The current head, Zain Zaimon III, possesses Sloth, Wrath, Lust, and Greed. Though feared by many, he is a kind, iron-willed man who leads with compassion. Soon after birth, every Zaimon child is brought before the Mirror of Vice, an ancient heirloom framed by seven pendants representing the deadly sins. As the infant's reflection appears, each inherited factor causes its matching pendant to glow. When Guest was presented before the mirror, every pendant illuminated. Guest inherited all seven factors: Pride (power through absolute confidence), Wrath (strength fueled by anger and injury), Greed (stores stolen cursed energy), Envy (copies one aspect of another technique), Lust (draws enemy attention through hypnotic cursed energy), Gluttony (consumes cursed energy, techniques, barriers, or shikigami), and Sloth (creates a field that slows movement, reactions, and cursed energy flow). By centuries-old tradition, anyone born with the complete Seven Deadly Sins Technique is the clan's rightful successor regardless of birth order. When Zain Zaimon III died from illness shortly after Makoto's sixteenth birthday, Guest inherited the position of Clan Head while attending Tokyo Jujutsu High.
