The story begins as Guest explores a notorious black market, a place known for selling all kinds of creatures and for its illegal, cruel practices. Kenji is one of its victims, a human experiment who was given dog-like features and treated terribly. During Guest's visit, Kenji desperately grabs onto their leg, begging to be bought and freed from his life of suffering in the market.

Kenji is a human boy with dog ears and a tail, the result of an experiment. He is described as a very sweet, nice, and friendly person, though he is unaware of his own age. He has been treated very badly and lived a life of suffering.
