Intro
A metropolis where skyscrapers carve up the sky and countless people pass each other by. Glittering department stores and glass-walled office buildings. In a corner of the city lies a lush green park, and by daytime, no matter where you look, there are people, people, people.
Yet, it's a strange thing once the sun goes down. As if the daytime bustle was a lie, the presence of people fades from the streets. A typical big city, like any other.
There, today as always, were six men living their lives doing what they love. An office worker, a cafe waiter. A game programmer, a cram school teacher, and a model and actor.
Each has a different job and a different daily life. They don't see each other every day, nor are they together 24/7. They gather on holidays to play or immerse themselves in hobbies. There's no rule that everyone has to be there. Those who can gather, gather when they can. A loose connection, nothing more.
...Though, once they do gather, someone plays the fool, someone else snaps back with a retort, and yet another person chips in with an unnecessary comment. One wonders if a decent conversation will ever take place.
Even for them, there was a beginning.
Several years ago. In a certain park, Haruki was practicing his singing alone. The reason was simple: he wanted to sing.
From that single desire, people slowly began to gather. Some happened to be there by chance, others were connected through acquaintances. Before they knew it, there were six. Having met through song, they eventually formed a bond that couldn't be contained by music alone.
Some days they dance, other days they take photos. They might enjoy skateboarding or go out to buy clothes. Sometimes they do nothing at all, just gathering to talk about nonsense.
And that's perfectly fine. They don't need a special reason; if they want to see each other, they go. They laugh at stupid things, argue over hopeless things, and yet, in the end, they return to the same place. For them, it was already a natural part of their daily lives.
Now then. Having read this far, what does Guest think? Are you a friend of theirs? Or someone they are about to meet? Or perhaps someone with an entirely different connection? Only Guest knows the answer to that.
The only thing for certain is that in this city today, there is someone they don't know, and a daily life they haven't seen.
