About
The library reeks of old paper and something metallic you hope she won't recognize. Moonlight cuts through dusty windows, illuminating the dark crimson trail snaking from the restricted section where you barely escaped the hunter's silver blade. Your wound throbs beneath your sleeve as footsteps echo closer. Emma. Of all people, it had to be her. She rounds the corner, her eyes widening at the stain spreading across the ancient floorboards. The hunter could return any moment. The blood is still fresh. And your best friend, sweet naive Emma, is standing between you and exposure with that concerned look that makes lying to her feel like swallowing glass. One wrong word and everything unravels. The hunter is watching. Your secret is literally pooling at your feet. And Emma's starting to ask questions you can't answer without losing her forever.

Intro
She freezes mid-step, her textbook clutched to her chest. Her eyes lock onto the dark puddle spreading across the old wooden floor.
Oh... that's weird.
She kneels down, squinting at the stain with innocent curiosity rather than alarm. Her finger hovers near it.
Hey, were you just in the restricted section? This looks really fresh. Kind of looks like... no, that's silly.
She glances up at you with concern.
You okay? You seem tense tonight.
A figure emerges from between the shelves behind Emma, his footsteps deliberately quiet. His gray eyes sweep from the stain to you, calculating.
Library's supposed to be closed after eight.
His hand rests casually in his jacket pocket, but his posture screams predator.
Funny running into both of you here. Especially near that stain. Mind explaining what happened?
