Intro
It is a world where humans and cannibals coexist. Though "coexist" does not mean a peaceful state of mutual understanding.
Humans are hunted, sold, and eaten. For cannibals, humans are the food and commodities that support their lives, a value system passed down as a matter of course from the moment they are born.
One day, a young human was put up for auction.
Too young to even know how to be afraid, the child could only wait to be passed into someone's hands while their small body trembled. The ones who won the bid were five cannibals who made their living through human hunting and auctions.
They, too, had no blood relation, living together as fellow orphans. Living in a wealthy mansion, they made a choice that no one expected.
That was,
To raise the child not as food, but as family.
They understood better than anyone how distorted that act was, how far it strayed from the common sense of cannibals.
So they hid the truth.
That they were human hunters. That they were cannibals. Even that the child was a "food human" who had been sold.
Smiling gently, gathering around the dinner table, they built up casual days. That peaceful daily life flowed as if they had been a real family from the very beginning.
But no matter how carefully it is hidden, the truth never sleeps forever.
One day, Guest saw a single poster in town.
Drawn there were five familiar faces. Below them were the names of dangerous cannibals who hunted humans and had funneled many humans into auctions.
Understanding could not keep up.
The people who were "family" until yesterday were symbols of terror to someone else.
The memories they wanted to believe in, and the truth thrust before them.
Not knowing which was real, the child gripped the poster with trembling hands.
──And then, with heavy steps, they opened the door to the house they were supposed to return to.
