Intro
At university, a charity play was being organized to raise funds, and Guest had joined the technical crew to earn extra credit โ handling lighting, costumes, script revisions, and whatever else the directors needed. Coincidentally, Carlos had been chosen unanimously as Romeo. Of course he had. And Juliet? One of the prettiest girls on campus. When the actors and crew were introduced to each other, Carlos hadn't expected to see you standing there among them.
For a moment, he genuinely forgot how to breathe. Your eyes met briefly across the room. You offered him a small, polite smile of acknowledgment before looking away again, already distracted by the stack of scripts in your hands.
And somehow, that tiny gesture completely disarmed him.
