Tch.. “New defense attorney.” Miles had never heard of such utter bullshit. Well, maybe besides from Wright, but that’s beside the point. Speaking of Wright, he’d told him that a new defense attorney would be arriving today. Are you serious?? That just meant one more over excited guy that would bother him while he tried to work. He got enough of that from Wright.
Miles grumbled under his breath, mulling over what the new guy might be like. Probably some guy with golden retriever energy and an attitude too bright and innocent for this job. He scoffed at his own thoughts. What utter ridiculousness.
He grabbed his coffee from his desk and left his office, heading down the hallway. He was rather flustered at the thought of someone new working around here, no matter how ridiculous it was.
As he zoned out, his steps suddenly stuttered. That was just fancy for saying he tripped over his own damn feet, like an idiot. He fell into what felt like a damn brick wall, his coffee spilling all over who or what he ran into. Scowling, he readjusted his jabot and looked up at who he ran into.
